Places I've Been at This Week...

Hosted by "French Lique, Texas"

Nothing much to show today but the places I've been to looking for great dishes. The following photos are all borrowed online:

TABLESCAPING IDEAS:("Brain is so cool when she gets bursts of ideas!) Create a scrapbook of all your individual pattern of dishes and prized centerpiece collection and all the tablescapes you ever did. You can do this scrapbooking in your laptop using one of the many softwares available. During a rainy day, create a cozy nook, set a sidetable-scape for one. of fingerfoods and a drink, nice flowers on a vase, a lit candle and a throw on the chair. Get cozy and look over your scrapbook or album of your great finds and tablescapes. It's a guaranteed energy booster and rainy day blues buster!

Sidenote: In light of this economy, I have decided to refrain from dish hunting for a while. Unless it is Goodwill, Salvation Army or Free Cycle. I want to focus on enjoying all of my current dishes and discover my own creativity in stretching my imagination with what I have on hand. I take this "sacrifice" (smile) as a personal challenge. Because of all of your wonderful ideas and great pictures, I have managed to add to my collection more than I ever did the last twelve years. I thank you all so much for that...

  1. I was interested to read what you are doing in not buying dishes, I am the same, you never know what you will turn up in a thrift store though!

  2. The hunt is always fun. But also enjoying what you have and showing them off in a new way is also satisfying.
    Good luck, Candy

  7. Hi Chandy,
Isn't it amazing how blogland has opened up so many ideas for us all, I too had started increasing my dish collecting, but like you I am limiting it to goodwill and thrift stores. But it doesn't hurt to look though!! LOL
Thank you for stopping by and for leaving such a sweet comment, I would like to wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Easter.

  8. What a wonderful blog. Just love it. I, too, am trying to use my old dishes and change them around in different ways. Goodwill is a good place to look for great deals though. Enjoy the hunt! Amy

  11. Thanks for stopping by. I did get my dishes at Cracker Barrel. They were a little pricey but I just had to have them. I should do a tablescape for Thursday, but somehow I never get around to it.

I've been going overboard with dish buying and it's got to stop! I've run out of places to put any more. I think I have more than enough to do! Thanks for the word.

Niceties first

HELLO AND WELCOME to this blog dedicated to my obsession of tablescapes, and ONLY TABLESCAPES!
That means that whatever I post will be redirected to tablescapes or you will see tablescapes or the dishes and glassware that I used AND wish to use.
I hope you like you what you see; but you can't do that unless you take the tour- the TABLESCAPE TOUR that's on the side bar! I'd also love to take you on my adventures on finding great dinnerwares to display and use while leaving some serious change in your pocket, so stay a while and see all of my great deals!
Wanna know the reason behind the madness, too? Then make sure to read, Why this blog for my philosophy.
