This is my first Thrifty Treasures, so this post is also perfect! I got 8 of these napkins- dirt cheap! You'll see!
Last Thursday, for my tablescape, many of you noticed my "tucked in" silverware and asked me how I did it. Well, since I'll be transforming a napkin into a pocket, I thought, "Brain" will this qualify for today's Met Monday? And she said, "why of course! Commence with the napkin to pocket metamorphosis!" That "Brain", she's a cut-up! LOL
So here are the steps to folding this napkin into a pocket! I used one of the new ones, tag still on it, because the initial fold gave me this idea!
1) Layout your napkin, long ones work best for this fold.
2) Fold it inside out, where you can see the main tag, not the store tag.
3) Fold down the top part by about 2 inches.
4)Fold in one side.
5) Fold in the other side so they face each other.
See the price tag at the above photo? I really did get it for 39 cents- 90% off!
6)Fold both sides together like a book. Easy so far, right?
7)Choose which part of the book fold you want to show and fold the bottom at an angle to show an isosceles triangle view of the bottom side.
8)Grab three silverware to tuck in and you're done!
This is what it looks like tucked in.
Here's a full placesetting. Gotta love swirly straws!
Or, you can put it on top of your plates and hint of a casual dinner to come.
I hope you all enjoyed the transformation of my 39-cent napkin. I love Kohl's, especially when they have enough of what I need and want for uber savings! Yay! I can't wait to share with you on Thursday more of my great finds!

ReplyDeleteThis is cool Chandy. Tablescapes I see have the spoon and forks place on each site of the plate so the "pocket" napkin is a nice change :-)
