Well, today, Friday, our gracious host, Gollum asked all of her participants to post about our Foodie Friday disasters. I think this is one theme I can rise to the occasion each time. LOL
For a recipe that called for cornmeal muffins, I used grits instead. Well, now they are petrified grits muffins! They are hard!!!
Here are the cakey sugar cookies... It was a pain getting them off the pan!
The extra that no one else wanted and practically got hollowed out from getting off the pan! LOL
Michael, thank you for hosting and to those who visited, you all so rock!!! What was your foodie disaster this week?
TABLESCAPING IDEA: ("Brain is saying yellow not grits, yellow...) Don't let mistakes bother you just find an alternative. Then set the table using your successful recipe (just like I did with my "honey wheat muffins with sausage on TT's post) as the main centerpiece!
I guess you learned the difference between corn meal and grits. Too funny!

ooo, i've never even heard of using cornmeal in cupcakes....hahaa...we ALL have trainwrecks, it seems.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how things that look alike can make such differences! Thanks for sharing your train wrecks! :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteLive and learn, right? Or should I say cook and learn?! Thanks for sharing.

Chandy..you are so funny... I am sitting here smiling... I am sooooo happy you are my friend! Happy Foodie Friday! Have a great weekend ~ Susan
ReplyDeleteThe grits in the muffins is bad enough, but DEFINITELY do not try to eat a bowl of cornmeal (instead of grits) :) Thanks for the smiles!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're not alone. I have put Lowry's salt into something instead of cinnamon. lol
ReplyDeleteYou've got 'true grit,' Chandy! LOL! Love this!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
This is something I would do.
ReplyDeleteChandy, you are truly funny. This is such a cute story and oh have we all reached for the wrong thing a number of times. lol I just want to thank you for the gracious comments you always leave on my posts. I so appreciate them. I just did an inspirational post that I hope you take the time to read. It is such a blessing to our family. Thanks again, Hugs Marty
ReplyDeleteOh Chandy, thanks for stopping by and reading my post. I was thinking about you at graduation and yes I do know where you are staying. I so wish it was a different time of events and maybe we would have time to meet. Congratulations on your graduation. I know you too are so blessed and the Lord has provided for this miracle of graduation for you too. I hope you enjoy your visit to Phoenix and I will think of you often. Have a safe trip home. I will talk to you next week. Hugs Marty

The grits for cornmeal incident is funny :-) To be honest, in my house we don't have Foodie Friday disasters. It's more like Foodie EVERYDAY disasters :-) That's how awful I am :-)
ReplyDeleteEveryone, thank you so much for a good laugh when I check my blog. I miss visiting all of you!
ReplyDeletewell that doesn't look yummy! Maybe you could have made stuffing with them, LOL!
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I wish, but they were that hard that it hurt to touch them. LOL
